Sherman Associates multi-family project is Doran’s first in expansion to Denver area
Doran Companies, the Bloomington, Minnesota-based development, construction and design-build services company that recently expanded to the Denver, Colorado area, announced today that they have started construction on a 255-unit multi-family apartment project for Sherman Associates in the Denver suburb of Westminster.
Anne Behrendt, COO of Doran Companies said Doran has leased office space and has assembled a team to manage the company’s Denver operations. Behrendt added that, “while the Sherman project is a great opening for Doran’s construction services, we are also pursuing our own development projects in the Denver area and expect to propose a multi-family project in the last quarter of this year.”
Doran’s CEO of Construction and Architecture, Scott Stenman, who is leading the Denver expansion said the construction company’s reputation in the Midwest has been reinforced on the strength of building dozens of multi-family and multi-use projects. “In just the last ten years we have built, or have under construction, over 5000 multi-family units for third-party developers and ourselves. Many of them design-build with our integrated design and construction teams, but all of them benefiting from Doran’s experience of developing, designing, building and managing our own projects.”
Among Doran staff in Denver is Paul Joseph, a Denver area native who is a Senior Vice President of Doran Companies. Joseph’s experience includes leading large-scale high profile hospitality, residential and retail development and construction projects as both a project manager and owner’s representative. Joseph is a graduate of the University of Colorado, Denver.
Joining Joseph in Denver is Construction Team Leader, Dan Zimmerman; V.P. of Preconstruction, Greg Conger; General Superintendent, John Vigil; and Assistant Project Manager Grant Schowengerdt. Zimmerman is an experienced construction manager in the Denver area who has worked on projects that include the Denver International Airport, Wellington Webb City of Denver office building and a wide array of multi-family and hospitality projects.
Conger, a construction professional who has worked on numerous office, hospitality, retail, and multi-family projects throughout Colorado, is a graduate of Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management.
A graduate of Western State College of Colorado, Vigil has 22 years of experience in the construction industry building and successfully delivering over $600 million worth of hospitality, medical, educational, mixed-use, multi-family and four large office projects in Colorado.
Schowengerdt has worked on several Denver area projects during his career, including The Forum in Aurora and The Colorado Springs Orthopedic Group medical office project. In addition, Grant’s experience includes several retail projects in the Denver market. A graduate of Colorado State University, with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Grant is LEED Accredited
