MINNEAPOLIS (October 4, 2018) — United Properties announced today that Mark Nelson has been promoted to executive vice president, residential development, effective September 1, 2018.
A 19-year veteran of the firm, Nelson leads United Properties’ residential development activities, including the company’s senior housing business, encompassing Applewood Pointe Cooperatives and Cherrywood Pointe Senior Living Communities, as well as market rate rental housing and condominium development.
“Mark has been an integral part of our senior housing development team for over 12 years,” said Bill Katter, president and chief investment officer, United Properties. “He has a broad base of expertise that will be vital to the company as we continue to grow the residential development side of the business.”
Nelson joined United Properties in 1999 as a project manager. Prior to joining United Properties, he was a real estate manager for Holiday Companies. Nelson holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and marketing and a master’s degree in real estate investment analysis from the University of Wisconsin‐Madison.
Nelson is a member of the Twin Cities Housing Council for the Urban Land Institute.
